Well now I'm committed...no turning back now.
For several years now I've daydreamed and talked about how I want to run a 5k. My plan is always that I'll start running and training and then sign up for one after I feel I can finish the race.
Well with the way I am that's just a recipe for me to run a few days, get busy, quit and say maybe next year.
Not this time!!!
I just registered for the Honor Run 5k benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project on Saturday 9/13. My thought is that now I'm committed to a specific race instead of just the idea that I'd like to run one. This should give me the drive to get out and do what I have to do.
I'm seriously pumped about it. This will be my first race ever. I'm actually looking forward to putting the effort into training so that I can not only finish but do so with a good time.
I'm also excited about just getting back into shape. I've always been in fairly decent shape even tho I don't usually stick to exercise as well as I know I should but the past couple years I've been feeling less and less athletic and I've gained 20 lbs since getting married in 2012. The idea of feeling better, training and getting in better shape and hopefully even dropping some weight is awesome.
