If you know what vaccine brands your vet is using, the simple thing is to look up the label info online. My current combos per label state to be given at 2-4 wk intervals (the one it replaced said 3-4 wks). That applies not only to just combo boosters, but everything else (lepto, rabies whatever..). My lepto vaccs say 3-4 wk intervals. The vets I have spoken to at Merck and Pfizer have told me my 3-4 wk intervals between are really ideal, in their opinions. And they really stressed ONLY vaccinating 100% healthy pups, so if the pup isn't bouncing off the wall (even due to a growth spurt), wait a couple days and re-examine your timing. We only have one shot at puppyhood vaccines the way I look at it, so I want to do it as well as possible. I think too many (vets included) get on a calendar routine and just go with it. I did learn thru all this that my backup vet (further away, but has done all my OFAs and repro lately) won't give more than a 3 way combo at once after the first 2 combos as he says the respiratory stuff is covered by then. He absolutely won't combine lepto or rabies w/ anything. Guess who is going to be my "go to vet" from here on out when at all practical? I have lost respect for the ones working on their schedule of convenience. I want a vet who has my puppies' health first and foremost in their priority.
