    Yard cleaner

Any recommendations on a spray cleaner for the area where he pees and poos? Obviously something non toxic, but that sanitizes.

Are you worried about burning the grass or just cautious? I don't spray my yard with anything. If I had to, I'd just hose the area down with water.

Dan's place to go certain times of day/weather is under the roofed area of our deck (under the deck on gravel). I spray that with something like Simple Solution or Nature's Miracle every once in a while and then hose it down. I've never done anything to grass...Mother Nature takes care of that. (solids are picked up everywhere)

I’d like to sanitize for giardia and then just regular sanitation every now and then. Right now Diggity is going anywhere he wants to in the yard, but over time I’m going to train him to go in one spot beyond the grass. So preferably if I can get something that doesn’t kill the grass, that would be a bonus. Also I’m wondering if he got giardia from the rabbit poop in one particular area of the yard. II’ve cleaned that up as best I can, but I’d love to sanitize that area too.

Oh, I missed your post about the giardia. I haven't had to deal with that before. Hopefully someone will have some other ideas. Here's what the CDC says: Giardia & Pets | Giardia | Parasites | CDC

My friend is battling giardia in her yard and the vet says bleach. It'll kill the grass though.

Bleach for Giardia, pretty much only thing. I did dilute it half bleach half water but it is what it is. Pretty much if it is going to sanitize it is going to kill the grass. I didn't have long term affects though. It takes a while for the grass to die and basically I would apply the bleach solution, wait a day then hose the area really good, killed the giardia and then helped wash the bleach away. Next year you never would have known.

That's the thing about owning a lab, your never going to have a perfect lawn, it will always take work.

My backyard is now 100% hogs fuel! No mud, no mowing or watering, and no worries.

I volunteer at a service dog training center and they use a product called wysiwash. Looks pretty good, but my concern is that Diggity eats grass (and sticks and acorns) and I am sure he will ingest some of the product, even if I wait until it is dry to let him back out. I emailed the company to ask about that, but wondering if anyone here has heard of that product and knows about it's safety?

Cool...I'd never heard of this before. (I wondered what Google was going to be showing me.)
