No advice but sending good thoughts that you can get this cleared up quick.
Diggity has a pretty bad cough that he has now had for almost three weeks. The vet put him on both antibiotics and a steroid (which made the cough go away almost instantly.) Now that he is done with the steroid (thank goodness because I hated giving it to him), his cough is back almost worse than before. He is having major coughing fits which get worse at night. He is still on the antibiotics. I am taking him back to the vet today, but I am also wondering how to boost his immune system to help him fight it -- he is still so young (16 weeks.)
It sure seems to be kennel cough, but the vet thinks it is an upper respiratory infection instead. I guess there is a difference.
I did some online research and saw holistic recommendations to give them coconut oil and honey. I've also seen some holistic remedies for kennel cough. But I am also thinking I want to boost him immune system overall.
What do you recommend to boost him immune system and what dosage?
Any other advice? It is so hard to hear him hacking and gagging with very little stuff coming out. I feel so bad for the poor little guy.

Poor baby. I hope he feels better soon. I was thinking if he was on a probiotic or if this could be an allergy versus an infection? I hope the vet has some answers for you.

Oh gee, puppy coughing is awful to see as well as hear. Their poor little bodies shake like they might fall apart. Hope this gets resolved quickly.

No advice but I hope you get it figured out soon! Bubba has kennel cough right now and it's the worst.

Three weeks is a really long time. Talk to your vet about heart stuff, too.
Talk to your vet about asthma/allergic bronchitis. Inflammation is a culprit and can be helped immensely by methylsulfonylmethane (MSM).
I had my cat's asthma controlled with just MSM...even the clouds on his lungs disappeared.
Hope you can get Diggity feeling better soon!
