I really hope he loses his rabbit poop taste as he gets older. It’s near impossible to keep him from it. I have close to an acre, fenced-in backyard and those rabbits poop everywhere it seems. I try to clean it up with a little hand shovel, but there always seems to be new piles every morning. Frustrating.

I have never heard of it either, had to google it. From what I understood, Eimeria has different strains and some of them cause Coccidia, however Coccidia can be caused by Eimeria or Isospora. I guess Diggity has Coccidiosis caused by Eimeria.

I have no experience but it doesn't sound serious to me. Good thoughts he gets well soon!

I had heard of it because I'm on UK Dog forum where it seems to be a much more common concern. I always wondered why our N. American dogs didn't seem to get it. Maybe you'll have to put chicken wire that the rabbits can't get through all around your place. Good luck, hope it clears out soon.

Thanks. He is much better today and his poops are almost back to normal!

That would be a lot of chicken wire, but it is an idea to consider!

Any wire you use would need to be buried....I forget for how far down.....6" maybe....to prevent digging. A determined rabbit will dig to get to the desirable area.

And the other problem is I have four gates in various spots. Not even sure how I’d close up all the gaps there.

I'm glad Diggity is feeling better! I'd never heard of it either.

Diggity is finally back to normal. I found a good article that describes what he had. He is quite fond of both rabbit and goose poop, so he could have gotten it from either:

When dogs eat poop, parasites can come along for the ride | The Sacramento Bee

My hope is that as he matures and his immune system gets stronger, he’ll be more resistant to getting sick when he ingests things like goose or rabbit poop. Or...the best case scenario...he stops eating it! (Yes, we are still constantly working on leave it.)
