    It is scary. I naively thought the ocean didn't get this kind of stuff. I thought the amoebas and flesh eating bacterias were something to worry about with fresh water but apparently the really warm waters are breeding grounds for this kind of thing. A few deaths have been reported, those that die are usually immuno-compromised in some way. With the number of beach-goers during the summer months I'm sure many people have come into contact with the bacteria and are unaffected but it's good to be aware of the risk. The news reports say the bacteria usually comes in through cuts or open wounds and consuming raw oysters.
