    Murphey- Post Neuter Update

So it has been 12 days since Murphey was neutered. He took the procedure well. I held off as long as I could but with his amped up hormones and "marking" on my older female as she was pottying I could take no more and had him neutered at the 11 month mark. He tipped scales at 72.2 lbs. He thankfully, was not given stitches and I was told to just "keep him quiet for 8-10 days" YEAH RIGHT!!!!! He was wound up and super excited when I picked him up the evening of his surgery.. wiggling and going crazy despite his back end still being a bit wobbly. The vet tech actually laughed and said "good luck" with keeping him quiet. We came home and took a nap together that evening, but before I could even get him to his cage, he jumped up in my bed! . his period of "quiet" lasted all of 2 days. No issues.. He has healed nicely and has not been prone to marking as much outside.. no more marking of my dog.. no more marking inside.. still as crazy and rambunctious as ever, but I figure by 7 years old he will calm down.. like my 10 year old..lol.

Glad to hear all went well. Seems they almost always do better with surgery recovery than they do with keeping quiet.

Keep up the on no marking, etc. His surgery will help but he his lessons need to be reinforced.
