Yup, get into the folds. You don't need to use anything more than light pressure, just some creative angling.

I wouldn't do emergency vet since she's not crying when she pees or having accidents... but if she seems in discomfort, you might want to run a sample to e. vet just in case. But then again, I've never had a UTI so I'm not sure how much it hurts! Luna sometimes squats multiple times just to be sure she gets it all out, she'll walk and pee also just to make sure she pees everything out.

Thanks for the info! She's definitely in good spirits, with no crying, so I'll take a sample in tomorrow morning. My poor husband is turning green talking about these "girlie" issues.

So glad she is feeling well. Will be looking for an update on the sample.

Tell you husband that he should read some of the poop stories.

Lol, wait until she goes in to heat and the topic becomes panties with pads to keep her from dripping on the floors and furniture, keeping her leashed and under strict supervision so no randy boys can get to her and then checking to see if her recessed vulva has "popped" out! He should be completely mortified at that point and I am betting your next Lab puppy is a male.

No kidding. The poop stories bother him less..guessing having a 2y.o. boy Lab desensitized him to that early on! I think I'm going to have to take care of the girlie issues myself! Poor husband can't handle it!

Fingers crossed for a good test result!

Thanks for checking in, everyone! The past couple of days have been busy with work, so I hadn't checked in here. In any case, Harper is a-ok! No UTI and she's stopped squatting multiple times (she stopped doing that over the weekend). The vet said to keep an eye on her in case she starts squatting a lot again. I wonder if she had something going on that resolved itself (does that happen?)? She seems perfectly fine otherwise - good appetite, energy, potty training on track, etc.

If only dogs could talk - I feel like a potty detective these days!

Could be multiple things. Seems a little early to be marking.
I know Luna always will do a big pee, then a couple smaller pees just to be sure she got everything out. She and her mom both walk when they pee. Could be any number of things, but very important you got it checked out and she is UTI free! Yay!

Yeah, definitely happy she's UTI free. I also thought it was early to start marking, but we do have a 2 year old Lab as well - not sure if that influences her at all. She seems fine now and she's stopped doing it so, for now, I'll take it!
