    Not all at once

When we got Oliver at 9 weeks he was water obsessed. Had to drink it all at once. I would need to call him away from it to get him to stop. Luckily, all the water consumption just resulted in burps and after a couple weeks, he calmed down with the water drinking. Well, he is at it again. Do I just keep filling it up until he stops and ignore the behavior or tell him to leave it after a long drink?

As long as you know he does not have a medical problem causing him to drink, I would leave water down. The bowl is always filled here.

Funny thing, they eat at different sides of the kitchen with water available beside the meal, Mardi and Archie will only drink out of one bowl. I've finally taken up the other bowl. More trips cleaning and filling for me but less sloppy floor to clean.

Maverick and Mia do the same! And actually, at class we always have a water bucket down and all the dogs drink together out of the same bucket. Maybe it's a bonding thing? I'll drink your leftover spitty water if you drink mine?????

I tell Zoey to leave it if she gets excessive. I dont restrict water, there always 2 big bowls filled, one inside, one outside. i just have to keep my ears open and make sure she isnt drowning herself.

At the age of 6 she still digs in the outside bowl, sticks her head in, and dumps it all over on occasion. And she plays in toilets

Don't restrict water and totally ignore the drinking. It's usually attention or boredom related. They're Labs, they love water. A raised bowl helped with the excessive drinking here.
