    Cryptorchid Neuter

Oliver is a little over 8 months old right now and I had 2 different neuter appointments set and have cancelled them both. He is cryptorchid and I know he needs to be neutered but when I do the research a "when" isn't really answered. They say sooner rather than later which I plan on doing. I don't mind waiting until he is around a year old but my fear is the neighbor's dog is a 3 year old unspayed yellow lab and Oliver already obsessively smells the fence that divides our yards. I am not sure how often females go into heat and don't want any unwanted issues if and when he comes into sexual maturity and she goes into heat. They (neighbors) said they were moving but have yet to put up a sign or actually move so.....If we go another 4 or 5 months without neutering and she goes into heat, will there be issues or not?

Bitches go into season every 6 months or so, sometimes longer. Don't be afraid, just supervise your dog in the back yard, like you should anyway.

Ok. He never goes outside alone and I watch him so we should be good then. Thanks!
