Ya gotta watch em every minute. Mine just ate two ziplock baggies of the good trail mix from Trader Joes.....my fault it was in my suitcase on the floor right in the spot where she likes to lay. Grrrrrr.

WAtch for tummy upset. Pennies made after 1982 are mostly zinc with a thin copper coating. I thought it was the copper that might cause upset but the link says it's the zinc. The link doesn't say how many pennies per weight is a concern. I really think I'd just watch and see myself, no panic.

Probably wouldn't happen here. Canada has phased out pennies and I haven't seen one in my change in a long time.

Putting everything in their mouth is probably the most frustrating part of puppyhood for me. It is why I teach "leave it" and "drop it" from the very beginning. I still have removed many disgusting items from puppy mouths in the beginning. Maxx is almost 4 and will still try and sneak the occasional piece of cat poop or an irresistible, stinky dead piece of god knows what! Considering the fact that Labs that compete in FT/HT fetch "long dead ducks" I do believe it is just part of their DNA, lol!
