Question 5 month old puppy size

    Hello all,

I have a 5 month old female chocolate lab. She is currently 40 pounds and about 19 inches in height. However, she still looks so tiny and petite to me. The vet has said she is a little on the petite side but very healthy. Just looking for your thoughts. I have attached a picture of her next my 66 pound male boxer. I am curious about how big she will end up.

Do you know her weight at 4mos? Normally if you double that, it comes close to the adult weight. 40# and 19" at 5mos sounds pretty typical w/ my own lines. Mine tend to end up on avg at ~60# in good working condition.

As long as her weight is appropriate for her frame (can feel but not see ribs), then I wouldn't be concerned. Like humans, some are just more petite than others.

Thanks you guys. She was about 28 pounds at 16 weeks. I attached 2 more pics of her. Does she look pure bred to you? Rescue says she was but just confirming. She has webbed feet, thick overcoat and thick tail at base.

She sounds pretty normal to me - she probably won’t be huge as an adult, but should be a normal size female lab. And looking at the pictures she looks purebred to me ....

    She is very sweet...

Remember...at only 5 months old, she still has a lot of filling out to do. Labs do not fully mature until18-24 months old.
