      Bulk Shampoo?

I am looking for a place to buy bulk shampoo (oatmeal) rather than the bottles that we find at the pet store. Possibly is there something better than oatmeal for our Labs (and other furbabies) to be using? I am tired of paying tall prices for small bottles.

      Any links would be appreciated.

Places that cater to groomers have the gallon sized bottles. You can find them anywhere, depending on the brand that you want. I can think of Pet Edge, groomers.com, Groomer's Mall, Revival, Entirely Pets, Jeffers, and Cherrybrook. You can also look for something closer to save on shipping and time. I think a west coast vendor is

I have never used this one, but it appears to be in TX.
      ProGroom.com - Pet Supply

I am sure there is somewhere else I have spend my money in the past, but that should be a start!

A shampoo I really liked for Jet went rancid after a year. Maybe it was two years, I didn't bath her often. It had lanolin in it. Check the ingredients before you stock up too much.

TJ Maxx owns Home Goods, they have a pet supply aisle with really good prices on very large size dog shampoos of varying brands. Like $5.99 on 32 oz. etc. but I've never seen gallon sizes there.

I prefer a coconut base over an oatmeal base myself.

Just curious, why do you need so much shampoo?

My mother was a groomer back on the day. She used to buy her supplies from a company called UPCO. She ordered through a catalog or by phone but they probably have a website now. They had nice products at good prices. She always had gallon sized shampoos and conditioners In her shop.

I am curious as well. Labs generally don't need regular baths, if they get dirty they can just be rinsed off. Unless there was a health reason I can't see why a lab would need so many baths to stock up on bulk shampoo

Wait, wait, I think I get it. By bulk you don't mean you want to store lots of it? You mean you want to go to a place that lets you fill your own container from a bulk container?

Hose and water should be sufficient.

But this place has gallons Aloe Bluing Shampoo for dogs and cats and pets by Nature's Specialties

I just happened to pull the link off the shampoo we have by them, but there are other flavors. We dilute the shampoo so much in water in a larger bottle, I think I've had the 32oz bottle for 5 years now. A lot of time flakes are caused by rubbing the shampoo too much into the fur and then not rinsing it out well enough. A groomer/prof. handler/breeder told me to put some diluted shampoo in my hands, rub it on the outside of the coat and NOT massage in. Then rinse.
