      Heatwave-

For the past two days we have had a huge heat wave.

The girls (7 Months Old) have almost not been wanting to pee or go to the restroom. They have been inside in the air and have been outside for very short periods of time. I was away from them for about three days so I don't know if I have just missed things and they now will hold their pee longer or if they are simply hot and just trying to hold in moisture? Might sound silly.

Just curious - Any knowledge is appreciated! :]

More than likely they just want to stay out of the heat.

Puppies and old dogs react to temperature extremes faster than plain ol' adult dogs.

That said, the girls just may turn out to be dogs who don't like the heat at any point in time in their lives. My Dan is like that (both he and his mama heat up fast).

I'm a big fan of cooling jackets....chillybuddy is my recommendation. Chillybuddy

My girls do not like the heat.. especially Sophie... they are more sluggish in the summer hot months. I don't even walk her... because she gets so hot... and pants heavy afterwards. Now, the boat is different... they love to swim.. and we keep them as wet as possible so the wind keeps them cool. We stop all the time for them to stay in the water and to run up and down the shore of the bay we live on.

Probably way to hot for them. I keep Archie's little pool filled but have to change the water a couple of times a day because it heats up so much. He does enjoy a quick dip but then wants back inside. Gave him a full spray down yesterday.

I am here in the same high pressure system causing your heat wave, we have it too. Opie has never had an accident inside however the chihuahuas are also reluctant to exit the AC. Arizona has just captured the record (unofficially) for the highest temperature ever recorded on earth. Luckily, it was not in the town I live in.

I walk Zach a little over a mile mornings and evenings and 3/8 mile at noon. But today, here in NE Kansas, it was 99 with fierce sun so we skipped the long evening walk and just did a short one.

Maybe it wasn't too hot for Zach but it was for me. And more of the same is predicted for the next several days.

      AARGHH!!!
