    ACTR1UM dog food.

I was just wondering if anybody here has tried "ACTR1UM" dog food. It's available in Ontario, Canada and it's distributed at Walmart. Here's a link to their puppy line product :

The reviews I've found are strictly from other Walmart customers. I can't seem to find any other reviews online. I was just wondering who (here) has tried this brand, and what were your findings? Is this a good dog food?

Maybe I'm slow this morning but I was unable to get to the ingredient list, thus unable to see if it's a food I would consider. But here, try this site and make up your own mind. The Dog Food Project will teach you about labelling and the value, or not, of ingredients and why order of them is important. Some things are ok if they are a certain order in the ingredient list.

The Dog Food Project - How does your Dog Food Brand compare?

One thing that is off putting to me in the food you link is the word "holistic." It has no meaning as far as dog food is concerned. There is no legal definition and dog food manufacturers can pretty well use it any old time and place they want.

Is the food you are using causing upset of some kind? Personally, if the current food is fine I wouldn't be switiching a four months old puppy. I did start rotating foods when my boy was two years but I kept the breeder's food he came home on in the rotation.

    Well,

Currently I'm feeding my puppy (Buddy) : Acana Puppy Mix - Large Breed. For his first puppy food I bought Pedigree (I know, I know....I'm horrible). 3/4 into the bag I started thinking, what about the quality of the food he was eating. I did a Google search and feel awfully guilty for feeding that garbage to him. After switching him to Acana's food, his coat became significantly shinier and I'm satisfied it's a superior food. The problem with this food is two things :

    1) It's fairly pricey but I'm willing to let that slide because according to the reviews (https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com) it's a healthier option for my puppy.
    2) I have to go to a pet specialty store which is a good 40 minute drive; nobody closer carries it.

The ACTR1UM, on the other hand, is available at all WalMart locations. The ingredient list looks pretty OK to me but I'm new at this. If it will help you, here's a copy/paste of the ingredients (according to the WalMart website) for their adult dog mix.
