My vet at no time asked that I bring Rocco in for these check-ups!
It's my choice to have him looked over by a trained, licensed, professional!
    Is it necessary? no!
    And finally………. it's my money!

I check her ears, eyes, teeth, and the rest regularly; I don't understand the need for a Vet to do that. Odd.

It is your money, no question there and you explained it just fine. I was just wondering if your vet had asked you to bring him in every other month, whether you had a wellness plan that covered frequent well pet visits, stuff like that. Your dog, your call.

Oh, I believe you explained it quite well. I am surprised that your Vet would not discourage such visits, but have never suspected that the Vet suggested such.

It is of course your choice to spend your money however you'd like. I have no desire for you to explain or validate such—your money and your dog are not my concern whatsoever. I believe my post above was directed toward a few other people here; not you at all.

I think that the idea is that through such early and regular patronization ("paying in"), the Vet might be "extra helpful" when the dog has a problem in the future:

Perhaps I like to think they'll remember.... if and when something comes up.
    Probably not.

Absolutely any individual's choice, though I had never considered such. (In my case, I'd rather bet on Veterinary professionalism and pet insurance.)
