    Maverick-11 weeks

Well guys I turned 11 weeks old on Tuesday
    -20140630_001418363_ios-jpg

Mom was going to get me a new toy, but I told her this box was the best toy ever! I went to my third puppy class on Tuesday night and the trainers said I had amazing recall. I don't know what that is, but I get A LOT of treats when I go to school! School is my favorite, but I'm sad because my two best friends graduated. I'll just have to make new best friends!

Mom says my sister is warming up to me. I don't think she plays enough but she's old. Maybe they'll get me a little brother or sister! I don't think mom will go for that but I'll have to work on her.

The kitties still hiss and growl at me. I don't understand why they don't play when I chase them and bark at them. I thought everyone liked to play chase. Mom always wants me to sit and be nice to the kitties but I don't understand. How will I play with them if I'm sitting?

Mom has been filling my Kong with yummies I didn't even know existed! Did you know there is a round little blue fruit called a blueberry? And a special orange stick called a carrot? AMAZING!

Mom and dad say I'm growing a lot. I still feel small compared to my sister. Mom said I now weigh 22 pounds. That's 7 pounds more than what I weighed when I came to live with them.

I like to sleep, especially all night long. Who wants to be awake when it's dark? I like to get up no later than 6am but that's ok. Mom and dad are excited that I usually sleep for 9 or more hours at night. Mom and dad are also excited that I am learning where to go to the bathroom. I know it's not OK to go in the house but I'm still not quite sure how to let them know. They usually see me sniffing and ask if I need to go out. They're pretty smart. They say I'm smart too, but they give me treats when I do what they say. Of course I'm gonna do what they want! They have food!

Mom says I graduate from my first puppy class on Tuesday and I have to go to the vet on Friday. Mom and dad also want to take me to a lake this weekend. What's a lake? And what is a boat? They said something about a boat too, but I don't know what that is. Mom also said that I get to go on my first camping trip soon. What's camping????

Oh little man--there's such a big world out there for you to learn about. Have fun boating and camping. Iknow that you will enjoy them both.

Maverick, you sound like you are in an awesome home! Lots of fun things to experience in camping and boating! Mom and Dad rock!

Be kind to your Big Sis and the kitties. Big Sis will teach you how she likes to play. And the kitties, well they want you to just ignore them.

What a big boy you are becoming! You keep being good in school, and in no time you will be doing some awesome things! Don't worry about friends graduating as you are sweet enough to make many new ones. Can't have too many BFF's.

So camping and boating are fun? I think I'm excited. Dad says I'm going fishing. That sounds like food! Do you think they'll give me some? Mom says I'm a stud because all the girls love me. I think she means human girls though.

Maverick you are a handsome little devil!!! Wished you lived closer so you and Bruce could have a play date!! I bet you guys would have a ball!

Maverick is just about the same size Bruce was at that age. He was 20 pounds at 10 weeks, and 30 at 15 weeks. Keep posting pics so we can see this little guy grow!!!!!!

Ah, sweetie, the world is opening up for you and there is so much to see, smell and learn. Sounds like you are doing one great job already.

Training humans to let you go outside potty is hard. Keep it up, they'll learn. Remember, they are not as smart as you so you have to be patient.

Fishing definitely has yummy food! But don't be mad if Mom and Dad don't give you that yummy food right away, they know what's best! And ditto to what PopTop says about the world opening up with so much to see, smell and learn. Also agree training humans is hard work, but Psst, you have some smart ones so think you'll have them trained on that outside potty issue in no time!
