    Barley’s first week

Barley came home a week ago and everything is going really well. I know it hasn’t been long but so far he’s a much easier puppy than Thor was. He’s not as piranha mouthed or wild, he’s more even tempered and less interested in tearing apart my pant leg. He does have some lungs on him and loves to howl and bark and shriek when we’re out of sight, but that is getting better. He slept through the night on the third night home and hasn’t had an accident in 3 days (and those that he had were our fault).

It’s been fascinating watching Thor and Barley figure each other out. Thor was keeping him at an arms length for the first couple of days but they’ve begun playing a lot. We supervise them carefully but I am so impressed with how thor adjusts his level of play to match the puppy’s strength. He lets the puppy jump and chew on him to a certain extent but corrects him when he crosses a line. I think they’ll be great friends.

But really I know everyone is just here for pictures. [emoji1]

    He’s perfected the head tilt.

    He owns the house now.

    Classic lab.

    Double trouble.

Is this a yawn or a howl because someone is unhappy about bedtime? Or maybe both?

You are right, we're here just for the pictures-so keep them coming.

What a sweet little fluffy pup Barley is. Love the third picture, in his crate!!!!!!!!!

The word "precious" comes to mind. Glad to hear things are going so well (in general as well as with Thor). What a sweetheart.

So cute! I hope things continue smoothly. Not to jinx you, but Kimber didn’t start biting until about 11 weeks. Hopefully Thor teaches Barley manners if that happens!

If you're reading this on a day other than 5/12...that's the date of the comic I mean for you to see.
