    May 12 vs today

This is Barley in his “puppy crib”, the laundry basket we’ve repurposed to take him out into the world to socialize. First pic he had just come home and was about 12 lbs. The others are from tonight, a hair over 25 lbs. We’ve been taking him out on Tuesday nights to socialize after puppy kindergarten.

I can’t get over how smart he is. Thor is no dummy but Barley is smart as a whip and on another level. He’s picking up everything so quickly, and after tonight’s puppy kindergarten the trainer approached me and asked if we were planning on any formal training with him since he clearly has the personality and temperament for it. I think I’m going to continue with standard obedience training towards CGC. He’s only a little over 12 weeks old so I’d like to use some standard classes to figure out what he really enjoys and excels at.

How cute. He is so comfy in the basket, I see him thinking he can still fits as he gets bigger which should be a source for entertainment and more pictures

He is too cute. Im guessing with being that smart if he docent get enough stimulation he could get into trouble. I sure am glad you got hem. And have loads of fun with the growing up process.

Oh my goodness, I can't get over how adorable Barley is...you can just see his sweet personality through the photos.

It looks like he doesn't mind his "puppy crib" at all!

    Just way too much cuteness!

Enjoy every moment....they grow up way too fast!

I think your going to need a bigger basket! SOON!!!!

As to Barley being smarter than Thor, and you can take this for what it's worth. With Thor, you were learning at the same time he was. All the things you learned while training Thor evolved and were refined as you went along. After 3 plus years of training with Thor, you are now a much more experienced trainer, and Barley is benefiting from it. And that is a good thing!

That's a good point, and something I've realized as well. I think it also helps that he has Thor to look to. From the first day we brought him home he's been mimicking him - I ask thor to sit, he sits, Barley looks at him and sits too. But even when we're doing things at puppy kindergarten that we have never done before, he's focused like a laser (well, as focused as a puppy can be).
