Lido is 10 weeks old today! He's growing steadily - not too fast, which is good. He's gained a pound since last week.
I had to change his food. The Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy didn't agree with him and caused very loose stools, which were getting worse. I'm now in the process of slowly changing him over to Taste of the Wild - Wild Prairie Puppy. So far, he's worked up to 1/2 and 1/2 over the past week, and his stools are already much better. I'm also giving him a probiotic every morning.
Big feet and thick bones on this boy! His dad is an English lab.

Look at those beautiful ears!! I don't know why I am to drawn to a dog's ears, but they seem to show their character or something-maybe I am just an ear guy.

IN front of that lawn chair for monthly photos is going to make a great growth chart record. Which you can share with us, please.

I agree with the growth photo updates! Plus it was my favorite pic of the little guy.

Are you sure the loose stools were due to food, esp if he'd been on it already for ~6 wks? I find w/ mine, they go out and eat parts of plants that are upsetting. English ivy, lily fronds, you name it.
Be aware of the fact that grain free foods are under the microscope currently as possibly causing some heart issues too. I'd not recommend it at all regardless as TOTW has calcium levels that are insanely high (1.8 - 2.1% as fed) and in many lines of dogs, can lead to uneven growth. Here are some articles re: the heart concerns:

I agree with Anne, grain free diets are not usually recommended for growth and puppies (even if it is labeled as "puppy Food") , not to mention the calcium/phosphorus ratio of that food, and the concerns with grain free foods.
Puppies this age should be gaining 2-3 lbs a week for growth, and should have some slight padding over their ribs.
Why did you switch from what the breeder was feeding, 10 weeks is a terrible time to mess with a young puppy's diet, from a nutritional and digestive standpoint. Have you ruled out coccidia or giardia, worms, or other parasites as the cause of the loose stool? It may not be the food at all, and the dog food Merry Go Round is not fun at any age.
He is a very sweet looking baby!
