Happy Holidays from Presto who is 6 Months Old!

Well, Presto is six months old on Friday. I think he's technically older in days or weeks, but he was born 6/21 and he's getting his rabies vaccination on 12/21.

He's got all of his teeth now and is healthy and oh so happy. I really have no idea what he weighs. He's smaller than the others, but solid. He's growing fairly evenly, though he's mostly legs and has a little head at the moment, but he's not as lanky as many puppies get. He still has decent control, especially hind end awareness, which is a gift when you do dog sports! He is super athletic and has been since he was little. He fetches, swims, runs around things, really light on his feet. His litter is ranging between 40 and 62 lbs as everyone is going in for their rabies shots the past couple of weeks and reporting back on our private litter FB page. I think he'll be in the 50-55 lb range. Obedience, agility (foundations), tracking and field work are all going really well! He loves to work, eat and play.

Most importantly, he is the sweetest puppy! He crawls into my lap every night around 10pm to sleep between my legs and rest his head on my stomach -- laptop be damned; he's crawling over it or on it! So far no regression on potty training and last accident was at 12 weeks (he had an accident one week before then) and that was that and he's still yet to wake me up, regardless of how sporadic my sleep schedule is. He's a dream in the car and loves everyone and everything, but is smart about it, if that makes sense. No barking. He's playful with his mouth but gentle (we have to work on the treat taking). Crates like a dream. Loves going to the vet. Good with the cat (I mean he doesn't eat her or jump her, just chases and nose boops).

That said, he's not perfect! He's BUSY. He's got puppy ADHD for sure. When training, he's a bit overstimulated, so makes my cuticles bleed and can be a total spazz when I really want him to just stop and focus. He jumps on me and on the counters (and everything else). If he is crated and I train my other dog, he throws a fit. He plays rough with the other dogs; I'm hoping he loses his puppy license soon. He thinks he's Evil Kanevil (sp?) and seems to be on a mission to break something despite my best efforts. And, cute but annoying behaviors abound (i.e., he has to be crated when I shower unless I want company, he figured out how to fit through the cat hole on the baby gate, bites at my clothes when I get dressed, etc.).

My agility instructor set up a fun little holiday scene around the tire last night. Doesn't he just look like so much of a BOY dog? (He looks pigeon chested here, but he's not.)

I love you kittah! Why you no love me?

For some reason, her paw is always half-cocked whenever he is within 12 inches of her. LOL!

    Awesome update!

That cat picture could be Diggity and my cat! Although it sounds like Presto has a lot more restraint than my boy.
