    DIRTY DAWG ~ A photograph.

    Aye Mates,

I went for a hike with family, friends, and my two gun dogs TRAD and MAC today. MAC is a near cream phase yellow Labrador Retriever and unlike his black sire TRAD, MAC shows every speck of dirt and mud he comes into contact with. I took this photograph about 15 minutes into our walk and MAC was one dirty dawg. He nearly seemed proud of this dubious accomplishment as I was snapping the shutter release.

A December dip in the native trout stream that runs through the property behind our home and MAC was once again a nearly pristine pup. On our return trip I worked MAC on his obedience in keeping him at heel and under control any time we were near an open seep or muddy depression. MAC only needed a towel drying whence we returned home and was slightly damp but sans dirt prior to being allowed back into our home. Ye gotta love Labs for their love of water and mud. 👍

    Cheers,
    Mike 🍀🇮🇪🇺🇸

Molly is a big fan of mud . This photo made me grin from ear to ear. I love the way the dirt falls off them when they get dry.

Mac does seem rather pleased with himself

Reminds me so much of my first male Lab, Clancy. That dog LOVED mud, and I swear if there was a puddle anywhere within a hundred yards, he was in it. The only nice thing was he was black, and didn't look nearly as bad as MAC does there!!

MAC that smile tells me you had one hell of a good time!
