One of the things I've learned from all the training I've done, is to not be afraid to give treats for good behavior when they are little. I always have treats in my pocket, and every time he does something right, he gets a treat. I measure out his daily ration of food, and the treats come out of that to make sure he's not getting more food than he needs. The only thing I won't give him a treat for is retrieving. I praise the heck out of him, and pet him as his reward. As we progress with our training, I want the retrieve to be the reward!!!

And yes, that sprinkler seems to be shrinking pretty quick!!!!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

LOL, The lawn tractor was one of Hemi's favorite things when he was a puppy too. He would follow it around the yard playing in the water. Enjoy it Brooks and I hope you get over the puppy poos quickly they are no fun.
