He's adorable. The "I've got a mouth of grass!!!" photo cracks me up.

This is fortunately the shorter jerk stage (or the "I don't hear you", "I don't know what any of that means" etc stage). Usually only a week or so. The big one is coming at ~8-9 months... lol. I'm just waiting for that shoe to drop on Envy's litter because everyone has been so complimentary of their pups to date. That's the stage that tells me who did the meaningful training in the early months.

And I know it's Brook's thread but I have to comment on how beautiful Sophie is. Her coat is so shiny and she has such a sweet expression.
Sophie is a real sweetheart, and she is ridiculously tolerant of Brooks. I've been finding small scabs on her neck from him biting on her, even though I step in the minute he starts with her. His teeth are SHARP.

Bruce used to do the same thing and it drives me nuts. I've had to fence off the area around the big tree in the yard, and around where the hose bib sits. There's just something about ripping up muddy turf that makes them happy I suppose.

Yeah, I'm dreading the horrible teen age phase. It lasted about two months with Sophie, and Bruce never went through it. Something tells me Brooks will be a "challenge"!!!!

I remember the jerk stage all too well! I swear Sam thought his name was Dropit at that age since that was always coming out of my mouth. Grass, mulch, sticks were free game. One day DH came in the house steaming mad because Sam tore up a little azalea bush roots and all. DH said all he did was go into the shed for a rake and when he came out Sam was prancing around the yard with a bush in his mouth. The little monsters are lucky they're so adorable!

One of my puppies loves grabbing a mouthful of good, nice grass! We are in severe drought conditions here in California, and that bugger goes for the best bunches of established grass, I am out there and I keep a good eye on her, but it happens in just a fraction of a second!

Brooks is growing nicely, and looks like a happy guy! My gurls were 18 weeks yesterday, and they are dropping teeth all over the place, Brooks shark teeth will be gone soon. :-)

I wish I had started posting weekly pictures of my babies LOL You all would get sick of me though.

When you started this I couldn't get over how big your sprinkler was. It's starting to look a normal size.

I can believe it. The dogs meant for serious field work, at this (8 months or so) stage are doing force fetch (and daily obedience sessions) so their lives are pretty regimented. It's amazing how much work you forget went into your puppy when you've got him/her more mature and settled down. Kinda like having a baby. If we ladies really remembered what hard labor and delivery was like, every child would be an only child.

That's the truth... Sigh. I'm all about structure in the early months before the pup gets too big and full of him/ her self. One admitted to getting a late start on leash work already... ackkk. Big mistake... prong at 4-5 mos is so much easier to develop the good habit of no pulling.

That said... Barry, did you make that platform yet??????????????????

I love the picture where Brooks forgot how to dog.
