Looks like he's settling in well. I love their round little tummies. Chocolate babies are pretty darn cute.

They are so cute when they sleep, they have some good moments when awake too (when not being mouthy)

This is for the middle picture in your second post. Please place on puppy tummy for me. Since he's a boy, be careful.

See this website for example ,they are always talking about there well behaved black and yellow labs ... Also I think it's nature's way. The chocolate was a hidden gene in black labs and we're culled at birth . So they are coming back with some vigour. My next is going to a red fox another color that was breed mostly out of the yellow.

Sure can be crazy! I will admit though, that Maverick is THE BEST with Baby Bear. Bear hangs off of his face or ears or neck or......other hangy down parts. He lets Bear stick his head in his mouth and steal his toys, treats, and bones. He has really proven to be a most excellent brother.

As a side note, when Bear gets crazy we stop the interactions and all play is STRICTLY supervised for the safety of both dogs. We don't let the hangy and bites play happen but Bear is a baby and doesn't know that he can't do that yet...it's our job to teach him.

Chocolates have always been in the breed. They are not a "hidden gene" in black Labs. There are several very famous yellows that carry recessive chocolate. There was a time when the color was popular with backyard breeders, because pet people like something "rare" or uncommon, and thus the notion of crazy chocolates was solidified because there were and are a lot of badly-bred chocolates. Well-bred chocolates, while many of us joke about "brown brain" are not "crazier" than blacks or yellows.

Fox red is simply a shade of yellow. It is not a separate color from yellow. Fox reds are also popular currently with a lot of less than reputable breeders because pet people are demanding them like they once did with chocolates for the supposed uniqueness of the color.

You are very wise to control their play. If it's anything like Sophie and Bruce, and now Sophie and Brooks, it will get worse as the puppy gets older. Sophie is so passive she will just roll on her back when Brooks starts the bitey face. Whes she's fed up, she will correct him, but he is so persistent, he just won't submit to her. Brooks is considerably more coordinated than Bruce at this age, so he can almost keep up with her when she runs. I know they love it, but the last thing you want to see is one of them get hurt.
