Same with Ram. Sometimes the wait isn't worth the clean up.

Both of mine drool, Chase more than Lark. When Lark knows I'm getting dinner ready, after some jumping and running around randomly, she runs to a particular spot, sits and stays but her eyes never leave me. Chase's "table manners" are worse and he's the older of the 2. He doesn't sit unless I remind him and his butt barely touches the floor before he's up again like he sat on a cactus, staring at the food bowl, not me. He waits standing up, waiting for the word, "OK". The longer they wait, the more drool there is.

Leo looks so cute and unconcerned- he's putting on a good act. Don't mind me, I'm just sitting here.

Just to add, some drool is apparently a good thing. It's a sign the dog's digestive enzymes are being produced to work on the food soon to come. When Oban was sick and on RxZymes they had to be mixed into his food 15 minutes before he could eat the food. I commented to our Vet on the amount of drool this made for and she said good, and told me the above.

    Good job!

Have not seen that version of the "eat slow" bowl.

We got that when Leo would eat really fast like he was starving or something. It was a bit more of a challenge for him when we first started using it. He can eat faster now, but still takes him about five minutes to eat. Had read that eating slower helps with digestion for puppies and wanted every advantage I could get. Added bonus is I have five minutes to have my morning coffee before he's crawling on me for attention .

I don't have a slow eat bowl but I did feed my pups in food dispensing balls for that exact reason. They'd hoover up their meal in 23.7 seconds and then stare at me like, "What's next, Mom?"Now I feed about half of their breakfast in one of the balls or toys, just because they seem to expect it.
