Usually dogs poop after eating ,a little waiting and a relaxed walk for a mile or so in the evening.

Thank you all for the great tips and knowledge sharing. We started taking him out when he starts acting up and it seems to help. If my wife takes him out he will potty and come back inside if I take him out he wants to play more so than potty but its a work in progress. So moving to two feedings a day how much should I be feeding? I'm going to slowly switch him over soon to Blue Wilderness but I'm not sure how much to feed per feeding. Any suggestions? Right now he is at 2 cups in the morning. 1-1/2 cup at lunch and 2 cups at night.

When I changed, I gave the same overall amount, just divided into 2 feedings rather than 3. I switched over a week or 2, adding a little more to breakfast and dinner and less to lunch until they were down to 2 feedings. It seems like he's eating a lot but I'm not sure how big he is. How much does he weigh and how much does the info on his current food suggest he should be getting? Every dog is a bit different so what I fed mine may not work for your pup, plus foods can vary greatly in the number of calories per cup. So, if his weight is good for his size and he's not having loose bowels, maybe what he's eating is right for him. If he's getting chunky, you can cut back. As they mature, they typically need less food but he may not be there yet.

I would only mention that a fair number of folks on here have not found Blue Wilderness or other Blue Buffalo food to work well for their pups- a high number of loose stool complaints. So, it's heavily advertised but not every dog does well on it. You can't know how your pup will do unless you try it but I wouldn't start with the biggest bag they sell.

He is eating alot. I am not a cup nazi and use a plastic cup which a few kibbles over a cup. We fed 1 1/2 cup morning and evening. We have been at this for 3-4 months and she has gotten from 30 lbs to 65 lbs now.
Pro Plan Focus Large Breed . again we go by the chart on the puppy food which is by age and weight. she can go up to 4 cups but we just do now want her to fatten up in the winter as she does have less activity and more training which means treats.
