    Funny puppy

Our four month old Lab loves to grab things he’s not supposed to and then come charging proudly into the living room. Usually a shoe or something like that. I’m still working on “give”, “leave it”, etc. I’ve been a little slack on training lately. Anyway, tonight right about the same time we noticed we took our eye off of him was right around the same time he came charging down from the upstairs bedroom. We could hear him running down the stairs and then he came running into the living room with a new stuffed animal in his mouth. Hilarious! He was so happy with himself we just had to laugh.

Hey, he's a retriever, proudly showing he can bring something to you. Must have been funny to see his reaction bringing you the stuffie. Sounds like a happy pup!

Archie will still steal shoes. He's not interested in chewing them, he grabs them by the shoe laces and swings them around. Shoes are now on lock down.

I have to keep every door closed in my house to prevent this - anything he can get his mouth on is taken to the backyard asap! But if he doesn't think you've seen him take it (usually an ugg boot!) he'll run back in the house to show :P Give is still a work in progress - he is a bit choosey about when he understands the command (playing fetch - good, holding onto my runners - no good!)

Our bathroom doors have to stay closed now. Oakley grabs the end of the toilet paper and runs out of the bathroom! That's really fun to clean up.

Yeah, he makes us laugh every day. He will do the same thing with shoes, swinging it around with the laces, and we also have all the shoes put up in high places Thank goodness he hasn't gotten toilet paper yet, but I think I'll be proactive and keep that door shut (but I'm sure that's hilarious). Last night I got him the Kong tennis ball/dumbbell looking thing. He enjoys it, but seems to prefer stuffed toys. I saw a cool video on clicker training retrieving (back-chaining) and the dumbbell looked like a great toy to start with. Here's hoping. Have a great weekend all!
