Latte will piddle when she meets new people, she piddles when Pops comes over even though she's met him many times. She piddled when Crafther came home last night.
Question: is this inherent in female puppies?
I assume she will grow out of this. I took her out 10 minutes before mom came home so she really didn't need to go, same thing when guests come over. She got a clean bill of health 2weeks ago and shows no other issues with peeing. We do not scold her for this. I assume it's just excitement. This is our first female puppy.

It’s not inherent (I’ve never had one that did that) but it’s also not uncommon, and most do grow out of it. Best thing to do is have people ignore her when they first come over until she calms down a bit, as the excitement of greeting can trigger it.

No, this is not inherent in female dogs, males can do it too, but it does happen, the official terminology for it is Submissive Urination. I also haven't had it here, but one of my puppy families did. The puppy is just trying to tell you that they are not a threat, and it will pass in a few months or by a year old, as long as you don't make it worse by punishing her. Which I know you are not. :-)
The best way to deal with it is to keep the excitement level down when greeting or coming home after an absence. Don't look straight at them or talk to them in a high pitched voice, just go about your business, and greet them after they have calmed themselves down. Another good thing to do is enter the house, (ignore her), open the back door to the yard, let her out and go out with her, that way if she pees a little it's no big deal. When you have guests over, or your parents, just have them ignore her at first, or go outside with her too.

My male dog did this all his life. It was called submissive urination as per the vet. He still does it at 7.

agree with all the above. i'd tackle it with, as repeated above, having her calm down before meeting people but I would also work on the pup's confidence in general.

Zoey grew out of it by 1 or so. She is the only female out of my 4 girls who did it. The tinkles stopped but she is still very submissive especially with men, she prefers women and kids

Every cocker Mom had was a piddler and also a friend's cocker. They were just so happy to see someone they piddled. Knowing that it happened at home, as kids we all knew not to greet a dog right away. Have anyone entering the house just ignore her (I now, hard to do) until she calms down a little. She'll grow out of it with a little help from her friends.

Bear does this too. We just ignore him and ask other people to ignore him for a few minutes.

Thanks to everyone for the advise. I think the having everyone ignore Latte is a great idea. Unfortunately our friends are very good at ignoring this sweet lil girl. We will have to train our friends first!
