    feeling bad for puppy

little riggins, aged 8 weeks and 3 days, is doing great at peeing outside. doesn't go in the house at all....and i had a good start on the other the first day & second morning. then that afternoon and evening, it was pouring rain and getting colder. yesterday was very cold and windy....today it is about 12 degrees and windy.. poor little guy just can't stand it long enough to poop......his feet get cold and he is just shivering......he is still peeing out there, but it's just too cold for him. i feel bad as i know it's not his fault. would be better for both of us if it would warm up. he is/was very easy to train on the quick pee trips, and i think he will be easy to train for everything when/if it warms up some. he has been awesome.

I do not blame him for not wanting to stay outside to poop. Maybe you could build a small shelter to break the wind and put a piece of carpet on the ground. A little training and some of his poop on the carpet and I bet he would use it. Good luck and wishes for warmer weather for Riggins.

Oban was a winter puppy and had no trouble peeing or pooping in -30C (~-21F). If anything I think the cold helped speed up pottying, get out, get it done, get back inside. We do have lots of trees, bushes and some buildings to shelter from wind. Not to mention the snow banks that year.

Good job Riggins!!! Sophie was a winter puppy, and I swore I'd never have another. It wasn't so miserable for Sophie, she actually loves the cold, It was miserable for me taking her out in the middle of the night!!

Mocha and Latte both love colder weather. It's me that rushes them when it's cold. I love the Nite Daws collar. Here's a link with pictures of Mocha in his glowing collar. Collar Lights - Update

    Riggins is adorable!
