Can you walk him without greeting people? Bear loves people but he prefers to make the decision to approach them. Until he gets over this, if he has to interact with people offer him a very high value treat for positive interactions.
That's good. But your son is family...he knows that energy isn't going to end up hurting him. With strangers...or even lesser-seen regular people...you never know. But mine don't even like it (they shy away) when I move around fast (housework or just going from room to room if I'm in a hurry), so...??? Neither of mine have ever had an aggressive reaction to anything other than other dogs (and even that is just barking sometimes...though that has gotten better with time...not going for them).
OK...I just Googled. The breed temperament is one of a soft, sensitive dog...reserved with strangers. You have what you're "supposed" to have in Archie.
I would assume a fear period and avoid the triggers for a month or two. If you see someone, cross the street BEFORE the dog shows signs of stress. Walk like you have places to go, people to see, all business, which will help avoid strangers asking to pet your dog. If someone follows you or comes up to you, put your hand out as if to say "stop" and tell them you are in a training session and the dog cannot be interrupted, but thanks for asking. Don't try to work through it at the moment, just avoid it for now. See how things go. If you are still having issues in a month or two, talk to your trainer.

So i actually did this yesterday. There was a man going down his driveway. We crossed the street. Archie was staring at him with perked ears from across the street. His tail was down. I just kept walking. And he was over it. So not too bad. He didn't cling to me which is a good sign.
