    Asher

Well, was headed into a conference call at work when my cell rang - the pet sitter. My heart always drops when she calls. Never anything but it always scares me. Anyways --- this call surprised me -- she could not get Asher back in the house!! That has never happened before. She cared for him since he came home. We just spent 11 days on vacation so I am thinking that had something to do with it? I had to text one of my employees who lives close to me and was off today to come over and help get him in the house. I guess he gave Bobby a hard time too. Asher has ran from me in the yard but thought it was play until I got serious with him. That was maybe once or twice. Never refused to come in before.

I sure hope this isn't a new habit? I came home from work and he was fine in the crate. Went out, came in, ate. Laying on my feet right now. He has surgery on Thursday and I have to suspend visits for 4 weeks so I guess he may chill out during that time? I'm not sure. Any tips?

    how old is he again?

Could be a teenage phase where he wants to be outside more. Penny did that often, tons of passive resistance. but only as she hit maturity.

or could be a random fear phase and something spooked him.

or a combination of things including the fact you were not there. if he getting as much exercise (physical and mental?) probably not as he has surgery coming up? maybe some pent up energy and not getting out as much?

as for hte dog sitter I may try to have her get ahead of things and use a long line and treats to get him in without having a stand off.

He's 16 months. He has been restricted for a while now so I'm sure that didn't help. I think it was more being on vacation with me for that long stretch. He is fine with me and had never done that with her before. Hopefully a one time thing!
