Just a little update. I spoke to Ashers surgeon about this reaction. Like a few above, he said it was clearly separation anxiety. Since it is unusual that I do have guests, he said Asher couldn't control his energy and frustration of not knowing where I went and who the other voice was. He didn't seem concerned with the rimadyl and any possible issue there. I did have blood tests last week at my regular vet and it all came back perfect. He said since Asher does not display any reactions to me leaving for work or when I'm out and about doing yard work, things are pretty normal for a guy his age and his current situation (months of restriction). I feel a little better.

I worry about lack of human socialization with humans, too, as we don't have many visitors. I'll be glad when Lido has his last round of puppy vaccines Tuesday, so that I can take him any and everywhere. I'm going to make sure that he goes to a variety of places often. He's been great around the people and places he has been to so far, which is encouraging.
