    The favorite pig

This is Diggity’s favorite toy. He nibbles on its tail until it turns all black and disgusting and I have to wash it. It soothes him and I know he is getting ready for a nap when he goes and gets it and starts nibbling. I can’t believe how long it has held up with his daily nibbling. But, it is wearing out. I bought it years ago when I had Sprocket and I don’t recall her being all that fond of it, but for some reason I kept it and gave it to Diggity. I keep looking for a replacement, but I can’t remember where I bought it and I have yet to find another one. I’ve bought him ones I thought were similar (it’s definitely the tail he likes), but he always goes back to this one. So this is a plea to any of you...if anyone comes across this stuffed pig, please let me know!

Not the same one but Dan adores his two pigs (small and large size). He nibbles off the appendages first.

I’ll have to bookmark that one. Once his pig is gone, I’m sure I will start holding tryouts for new pigs.

That's so cute. Funny how he doesn't consume that tail, just chews it. With Dan, no little appendages are safe (new toys get monitored very closely for the first few times he has them...I'm constantly on the lookout for pieces of stuffing, which he spits out, to evaluate the need to cut off some of the chewed bits so that he doesn't swallow too much instead of spitting that out, too).

I know, it is so strange how he does this. It’s like he is gumming the tail. It really gets gross after a few days!

I can’t give him any toy that has fuzzy hair. He nibbles and pulls at the fuzzy hair with his front teeth until he gets it out and then he eats it. So if I do get a toy with fuzzy hair, I have to cut it all off before I give him the toy.

Our boy Chase used to chew on the ears of his first puppy toy, a Snuggle Puppy. Since he would eat and swallow socks and if I wasn't careful he would swallow pieces of the towels he was fond of chewing, I just had to take the Snuggle Puppy away. It was sad for all of us. Lark doesn't rip up soft toys, Henry is busy taking the feet and tails and tags off all the ones we have lying around. The mental image of you shaving all Diggity's fuzzy toys is amusing.

I tried a Google image search, of course having nothing else to do, and couldn't find a pink piggy that looked like Diggity's. I guess I'll keep my eyes open when around dog toys in stores. If I ever find one, I'll probably forget who needs one!

Diggity had a snuggle puppy too and for the first 5 or 6 months, he slept with his head resting on it. I would turn on the heartbeat for him and it seemed to put him right to sleep. So cute. But, then he started chewing and licking it every night in the middle of the night. I took it away, partly because his chewing and licking was very loud. But, also because I didn’t want him to tear off pieces and ingest them while I was sleeping.

Thanks for looking for the pig!

That pig would be eviscerated in less that 2 minutes at my house. Hope you can find a suitable replacement for Diggety as it seems to soothe him as he's chewing it!
