    A good day

Diggity and I had a good day today. I felt like all the training we have been doing is starting to pay off. First, we did a 3-mile walk on some nice paved trails. He is getting much better at loose leash walking. He will still get a sniff of something and pull, but I turn around and walk the other way and then go back in the direction we were walking and that seems to eventually slow him down. Mr. Friendly still loses it when he sees another dog, but we’re working on that.

Then, we went to an outdoor mall where most of the stores are dog friendly. We were there for about 45 minutes and went into about a dozen stores and he was awesome. He walked right next to me with a complete loose leash through all the stores. And he was so relaxed and happy. He greeted most people with all four paws on the floor. Only a few times did he jump and it was when the people were all excited to greet him. The best thing was he seemed really happy and kept looking up at me and smiling!

There are days when I wonder if he is suited to be a therapy dog (mostly because of his high energy levels), but today I really felt positive about it. Such a good boy.

That's wonderful! I've ordered an Easywalk Harness at the suggestion of our trainer. Hopefully that will help Stormy's terrible loose leash walking. (The "tree" method doesn't work because she just lays down and starts eating random debris; I've had some success with the "switch direction" approach but that means we don't go very far.)

Good boy Digitty. A lot of my friends who have gone with me to restaurants or Dr appointments say Molly has a split personalty she is a different dog when she is working and at home. Digitty might really like having a job
