Just give her time and don't force her. Do you have any friends with dogs that do swim? Often that is very helpful and watching will lead to curiosity which may lead to getting your puppy in and swimming!
I have about a 4 1/2 month old Lab. This is my first Lab i ever owned my parents had English setters so im not new to hunting breeds but never had a retriever. I have a pool and i have been trying to get her into the pool with me and the kids but she scared of any water even turning on the hose to water the lawn she hides. Any suggestion I trying to carry her into the pool and have her on the first step but she just jumps right out. I have a kiddy pool too and she will drink out of it but wont get in it.

Agree with Maxx, give her time and if you can find another dog
who swims, they learn by watching !
