Gentle Lead Collar, or Choker Chain for heel training?

Which collar do you guys prefer for heel training; the Gentle Lead Collar, or a Choker Chain (not the pincher type)?

    Thank you

Neither actually. Just a regular flat collar, lots of time, lots of patience, and some guidance from a good trainer.

When I walked Archie this morning I think I walked backwards and made him sit beside me around 50 times. My neighbours think I'm crazy. BUT I'd rather he get the message through training than be forced by equipment.

Flat buckle collar, 6 foot leash, treats, patience, and obedience school.

I agree with the above. You want to teach the behavior you expect. Like Archie's mom said above, I am sure anyone watching would have thought I was nuts with Maxx. I spent more time standing still and changing direction than actually walking for a long time!

Neither. Get a flat collar, some yum yums and get to work. You dont need any special training collar to teach heel, or any other command

I have used a martingale but for training, flat collar. In fact, that's what our trainer requires, buckle collar and 6 foot lead. Patience, patience, treats and tons more patience.

It depends on the dog. Mine was a puller. He would drag me. He was not interested in treats. All he wanted to do was sniff sniff sniff, his nose was constantly on the ground.

We tried the gentle leader, and, although he couldn't pull with such force, it did start leaving a mark on his muzzle.

What worked for us is neither. We had great results with the prong though.

Try with flat collar, lead, loads of treats and a squeaky toy that's used only on walks. If you have a proper bond with your dog you don't need anything special to train them.

Only the prong worked for us.

I personally don't like prongs, I don't want to offend anybody but they seem to be just cruel for me but that's just me - I bought halti for Barney & I used it for not even a week as remorse were just killing me .... I read few books and started working with him using just normal collar & I've proven that to myself it was possible to teach him without using any violence, just treats and toys + loads of my time.
