    Tether Tug

I am thinking about buying a Tether Tug for my 9 month old Red Lab. Does anyone have any feedback on this item before I purchase it?

I've never seen one before. Mine aren't big tuggers and they'd only want to tug with me or against each other but if yours would like that, why not give it a try? I saw a video of a pit bull tugging a big old rope tied around a tree and they said he loved to do it for hours on end. None of my dogs were ever like that!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

When Oban was a puppy he LOVED something like that we built for the cats. You must supervise closely, there are lots of ways they can get hurt on that. One of the kittens got the string wrapped around her neck and I took it all down. Before that the same kitten launched herself at the top and was nearly impaled through her throat. Oban got lots of waps in the face before he broke the smaller one he played with. We had two, now we have none.

None of my Labs have really played in this way and it is not a type of play I would encourage anyway. Too much risk of injury.

I think if supervised at all times, it could be a fun toy. My lab and corgi would both love something like that

Sure, injury is possibe, then again injury is possible playing a game of fetch. You just need to use common sense with a toy like that, always supervise

I don't promote tugging - it could be a good toy, however I wouldn't allow the dog to use it on their own without closely monitoring them - I would rather buy a tug and play with the dog myself.
