I would do a puppy socialization class elsewhere, and then do the rescue's 6 week class and their CGC class.
I am offererd a free six week cource at the rescue where I adopted Molly from and then they offer CGC for free once you complete the training. I would think that this training should be on a par of anywhere I might want to take her. I just have to be really quick in getting in on the next sign up.
If I don't get her on the list would it be better to wait for free or go ahead and start her training at a different facility? She can only start in Jan due to her age.

she is a baby still right? 4-5 months?
What class are they offereing? Is it a basic class? Is there an expiration date on them? If it's a take it or lose it situation then fine I would say go ahead and time them. but it may be better to take a puppy class if she isn't already past that age now and take the free classes afterwards.

She is between 3-4 months. The only requierment for the class at the rescue is that they be over 5 moths old.
Thanks
I'd do a puppy class (STAR puppy may be a good one) first also. Then the CGC. The CGC will require a little bit of maturity to get the most out of it. Anne

I agree. I woudl start with a puppy class (puppy k if she is young enough, that will depend ont eh school) which works a great deal on socialisation to people and other puppies and appropriate play as well as training). If not just a basic puppy training/basic training class FIRST then do the free class.
A class to prep for CGC will be a bit advances most likely for a puppy that hasn't done any classes but if it's free and you will lose it if you don't take it, you can always give it a try.l
