i had a pug who's penis would pop out at least a few time every day till he passed away at 14. It was quite hilarious!
This made me laugh too much. Unlike my husband, I grew up around lots of male dogs and knew what to expect 'down there'. After we'd had thor a few weeks and he started to mature a bit, one day my husband came running to me all, "I think something is wrong with thor! He has a third testicle!".

Every male we've had has liked to play penis peek-a-boo.
I don't know why it's gross. It's a penis. You got a boy dog, and boys have penises, so... The only pet I can think of whose penis you may never see is a fish!
Each dog is different, but it's not uncommon to see your dog's penis occasionally or even often until he reaches approximately two years of age.
My dogs aren't humpers, but if they were, I'd either ignore it completely or take away the item he is humping, but do it without fanfare. Some dogs learn that humping equals attention. Even bad attention, i.e., scolding, will cause him to do it more. A friend had a Lab that would drag his dog bed in front of the television and hump it like there was not tomorrow when feeling ignored.
Beyond the penis, as others mentioned, you'll see the bulbus gland when he's excited (excited as in when you come home from work) and some also have more smegma than others. It is what it is. And, like someone else said, you'll just have to get over it.
LOL... This entire conversation is totally out of control, but very funny!

It's not gross at all! It's absolutely normal & in most dogs won't stop after neutering. Just get used to that
About humping - dogs (and bitches) do that & usually that's not even sexual; that's the sign of loads of emotions that have to go away somewhere. I never let to hump excessively or to hump humans or other dogs as that can turn into obsessive habit but a little bit with a teddy bear is ok

That's a lot of it. Dogs have a penile bone that makes things a little rigid down there even when not humping, so when they sit, out it pops. Life with a male dog.
This might help: Male dogs and their "problem"
