She may still be going in the living room because of the smell. I think I remember you posting that you can't get Nature's Miracle where you live and that vinegar by itself didn't work. Did you try using baking soda after the vinegar? I haven't used it on urine stains, but the combination of vinegar and baking soda works on Mocha's stinky bedding. Here's a link to a couple of ideas.

Be patient. It seemed to take forever to potty train Mocha and then it was done.

    Hello again!

I want to sum up my case here. Let me see what I am doing wrong.

My puppy girl came home when she was 8 weeks old. Now she is nearly 12 weeks old and not housebroken for a month. We live in an apartment. No fenced yard in the garden. Lots of stray dogs out. So I have to wait for the shots. The last one is on the 19th of March.

I crated her in our living room at the first day. I put some newspaper near but opposite to the crate. The room is not so big and I allowed her to step on only the half of the room. I encouraged her to do her business on the papers. But she couldn't totally get it. She had accidents on about 8 spots. I supervised her all the time but I couldn't catch her in the act After that we prepared a small room just for her. Put the crate in the corner and the newspapers in front of the gate (the door of the room is a baby gate) She did well in that room with a few accidents. However when it is playtime in the living room, she pees and poos anywhere! I worked in my supervision and lessen the accidents. Phew!

BUT! She started to give signals that she doesn't want to go on her spot and wants to go out of the room. Especially when it is poop time. She acts like as if she is in her crate and in need to poop. Does she start to see the room as her den? I guessed so and I decided to make another change. First I switched the papers to a fake grassed tray to make it easier to change the place. After a few uses with my force, she refused to use the tray! She peed anywhere in her room. I think she wants it clean. Yesterday I decided that I don't want to potty train her inside the house and took the potty spot to the patio on top of the apartment. The tray represents the potty time but she still does it out of the tray. And it took me 2 hours to make her pee and poo on the spot! I didn't wait there for 2 hours. A couple minutes of waiting, no pee poo, go inside the crate, go out, a couple minutes of waiting, no pee or poo, go inside... She needs to pee and poo but she holds it! After all the struggle I made her do it on the correct spot! Yes!!! I clicked and treated her, lots of praise and play time on the patio. After that we came in and I crated her, snoozing.

After 2 weeks she will be allowed to go out. Her spot will be on the garden. But I don't want another 2 weeks of peeing in the house. Am I on the right way? Will this method work? What do you think?
