    Excitement Urination

My 13 week old girl pees when excited. It happens when she sees people. There is more. Yesterday, we were playing and I showed her a ball, as she sit to wait for me to throw it, I saw pee leaking under her. Oops She seems unaware that she is peeing. So I know it's because of excitement. I quite know that I must tell people that they shouldn't be interested in her until she is calm. (They don't listen to me though. Annoying.)

I just wanted to hear from you wise folks Can I do anything apart from these?

No do not do anything, most pups will grow out of it. Its not a potty accident. You can work on activities that increase confidence

Zoey grew out of it by 8 months or so

I'd have her checked for a urinary tract infection, just to rule it out. Puppy girls, being low to the ground, could easily get an infection. Wipe her every time after she pees to help prevent it. Baby wipes are good for that.

You can probably take in a urine sample without having to take her in, too. Use a clean container, refrigerate after collecting, and a small shallow dish placed under her when she starts to pee is an easy way to do it. Catch the first one of the day, and get it mid stream.

Other than that, train your friends to not make such a big deal until she is calm. I know, easier said than done. Otherwise, like ZoeysMommy said, she'll most likely need to grow out of it.

Luna never did but one of her friend's did and he grew out of it by a year old. I would continue to ignore the peeing, clean it up and instruct to ignore until calm. I would also make sure to let her out immediately before people come over every time.

Tucker does it too. We call it sprinkle-tinkling. I don't worry about it too much because of how many people here have posted that their pups have outgrown it.

Yes I guess she will grow out of it. But Sue is right. I may have her checked for an UTI. I always clean her after pee and poo with baby wipes already. I think she will be OK. Thank you all.

My female pup did it too until she outgrew it.. I called it her "wiggle pee" Labs are a dog that I have never seen such excitement in a wiggle/greet. It is the most heart warming thing to experience if you have not! If you know guests are coming something that helped was to take her outside to greet or have her potty outside right before folks came over. Labs are in a puppy state for what seems like forever, but cherish it no matter how frustrating it can be.. because it never lasts as long as we would like for them to be with us! Just buy a few extra rolls of paper towels too!!
