    20 times in 20 places

My trainer suggested I start keeping a training journal. She also recomended practicing things 20 times in 20 different places. Has anyone done this? The other thing she said was when I am frustrated go back to the little things.

Have not kept a journal but sounds like a good idea. And yes, I do get frustrated at times. When that happens I have Archie do something I know he will succeed at and stop the training session on a positive note.

20 times in 20 different places is a challenge and is something that would have to be worked up to.

I didn't write down the different places but there certainly were lots of them. It never hurts to keep a journal, tends to keep you honest. Yes, and go back to simple, easy things when pup, or you, is having trouble. A 15 second SIT with a big happy dance after can do wonders to restore good feelings.

journals are great! but no I didn't use one.

I honestly HAVE NOT done the 20 times in 20 places but EVERY time I am out somewhere "new" i tell myself "oh yes, need to practice more in new places" haha. So it'S a great idea and should be done. but mostly on my "to do" list. Having said that, I DO get out and about with the dogs quite a bit (stores, new places to walk - today I realized I could walk to petsmart so we stopped there, it was pretty quiet and the dogs got lots of loving from the staff)

But I like the 20 time in 20 place thing!
