    The bells are ringing!!!

Hello, well my Sophie has decided she knows how to ring the bells on the door to go out.. and she has been ringing non stop. I seriously think she knew all along but anyway... she rings to go out.. and rings if she left a toy out on the deck she wants.. for example.. a nice tree branch by the door.. ring the bell.. door opens.. she pops her head out and grabs the branch to bring in... smart cutie pants...... Oakley is 11 weeks old today. The only clue she gives us that she needs to go out is going by the door and usually that's with no whine or anything so we have to constantly keep an eye on her or put her in the kennel. We were thinking of trying the bells. How did you train her to do it?

Congrats on the bell ringing! I have been trying to teach Murphy to ring them when going out too. I started at 9 weeks old with ringing them every time we went out and encouraged him to ring them too. He was not "into it" until all of a sudden this week (16 weeks old) I was sitting in the couch and I hear the bells ringing!!!! Normally he sits by the door but this time I was reading and didn't see him. He must have realized he wasn't going anywhere unless he could get my attention with the bells. So it took a while for him to get it but now it's consistent and I am so happy I didn't give up. I bought Poochie Bells and they came with training suggestions. He has definitely been teaching me patience....and so worth it. He surprises me every day with something new!!!!!
