This weekend my parents came to visit. This is the first time we have had anyone really in our house since we got Oliver. We don't have visitors much. Oliver was a little excited over the weekend but for the most part, he did really good. He had a hard time relaxing after he was acknowledged and played with but after awhile (it took a lot longer than if my parents hadn't been there), he would eventually lay down and relax. I only had to put him in his crate once because he just would not leave my dad alone but it was mostly my dad's fault and not Oliver's. I am just proud that he wasn't a total nut the whole time my parents were in town.
Don't allow your happiness to be interrupted by overly judgmental people. The problem is not you, because even if you do good all the time, they would still find a way to judge you wrongly.

Good job Oliver! Bet you just wanted to let them know how welcome they were.

My dad (pops) comes over and Mocha jumps in his lap after he sets down. Pops asks him to jump up then Mocha proceeds to lick pops face then he starts "Ok you stop that, you stop that", all in a funny voice and grabbing at his nose. He's no help at all with the training. Mocha has no trouble, he had pops trained so well!!!!
Good boy Oliver!!!

YES! This was it exactly! He would play with Oliver and get him all riled up and then say, "you are wearing me out" but he would keep his hands out and keep looking at him. Then I would have to tell Oliver to "stop" and my dad would say "he's ok". Ugh...either make him stop or keep playing with him. I should have emailed an instruction booklet on Oliver before I let them visit. Lol.
