Can you put the crate in your room?

I could, but I don't want to keep it there. She's in it during the day while we're at work, too, and it gets too hot in that room because of sun exposure.

My suggestion is to be moving it, It's important when crate training to bring it into every room you are in so that it is always open and available. At night, bring it in your bedroom. If you are watching tv, bring the crate out and leave it open beside you etc.

I completely agree. Not only will your puppy sleep better when she is with you, you will also. You won't need to jump out of bed to go looking for her, it really makes a huge difference. Getting a great, sound night of sleep makes everyone happier!

-img_5954-jpgpacker roams freely in and out of his crate,we as well are at work all day and crate him as well when we go to sleep ,he is 5 months old with tons of energy,we got him at 8 weeks old,the 1st night we got him ,he cried all night,I needed sleep so the next night I got an old sheet folded it up to a 2'x2' square and placed it in his crate in the front.Ever since that he's slept thru the night and he and his sheet are inseprable and when i fold it up he knows its bed time ,he waits as I fold it ,then after i put it in the crate he goes in and goes to sleep until the morning,he likes his crate ,i also feel bad for keeping him locked up,but he's still kind of in his destructive stage so I have to keep on him but at 9 months if he is house broken ,I wwould think it's ok to leave the crate open overnight, this is my 3rd chocolate lab and I think by 9 months they were free at night, but i have a dog fence that keeps him in the dining room/kitchen but at least its spacious-fullsizerender-11-jpg-fullsizerender-11-jpg
