Out of no where Molly seems to be scared of me in the house. She has not gotten in trouble but keeps going in her crate to feel safe. Not sure what to do about it? Could it be alll the packing going on around the house for the trip?

The packing could really easily have her nerves up. If you're stressed, she could be picking up on that, too.
I live with two terribly neurotic dogs and definitely see where they pick up on emotions and react to too much activity.
I do a lot of, "It's OK" and "Don't worry about it" to not reinforce the issue...otherwise Sunnie would slink away all the time and Danny would be up in my lap.
Yes, I bet it's the packing and she is worried what it means.
Is there a way for me to help her?
You could try a DAP (pheromone) collar or something like Rescue Remedy. RR is the only holistic thing I've tried that has done any good (effect doesn't last too long, though). I tried a Thundershirt with Sunnie and it scared her.

I think the best way to deal with this is to ignore it. The more you stress over it, the more Molly will stress.

One of my dogs would poop in the house every time we moved! The others just followed me around every where. It's definitely hard on them -- they just show it in different ways. I would not baby her at all and I would most likely ignore it. You don't want to reinforce it.

Based on her age (10 mos), my guess is she is starting a fear stage. I have seen a spooky phase in many dogs at that age, and used to think it was all about hormones, but saw it in a friend's girl who was spayed so went that theory...

A big difference in routine and what's happening in the house could definitely cause a difference in behavior.
Archie was out of sorts and a little fearful and clingy during the bathroom redo. The banging, sawing, odd stuff in the living room, change in DH's work schedule as he stayed home to do the project. We just treated it as a normal event and he finally settled down.

When we are getting ready to leave on a trip Mocha and Duchess know. Mocha turns into Velcro dog and Duchess lays in our suitcases. They know when there is a change in the daily routine. Hopefully if you keep reassuring her and act naturally this will pass.
