Archie does not tip the water bowl over but he does paw in it. I use a raised feeder. Maybe that would make a difference.

While she's a puppy, I would just remove the water bowl when unattended. If she continues, a no tip bowl or an elevated bowl may work. My sister got elevated stands that hold the water and food bowls for her dogs. No more pawing in the water bowl.

My dogs have done this when they were puppies but out grew it fairly quickly. Someday you will laugh when you think about this, I promise!

    Hi,

My 12wks black lab did that last week when temperature around here was hot.
I think her intention is to take a dip in the water bowl and only succeeding in splashing her paws and the water everywhere on the laminate floor.
I transformed my kiddie pool (for my tot) to doggie pool and let her dip in the water there during the hot days.
That, plus doing the "sshhh" or "pppsssttt" thing when she dips her paw in the water bowl stopped her habbit.

I now also have one of those lixit bottlse for her when in the crate in case if she wants a drink in the crate.
I still have water in the bowl next to the food bowl, and she often takes a drink there.
I fill it up 1/3 to 1/2 bowl full.

    HTH

Instead of water, leave her with ice cubes or a big piece of ice frozen bowl size if it is too hot to leave a pup without water.

I'm no expert by any means, but I have a 4 month old female lab. We have one bowl upstairs and one downstairs. The bowl downstairs is in a raised feeder for both water and food bowl. She doesn't mess with the water bowl in the raised feeder. The bowl upstairs is a stand alone regular bowl and we can't leave it out as she'll paw and tip it any chance she gets. We put it down, watch her drink, then put it back on the counter.

So, try the raised feeder. It works for us.

Yep, mine is a card carrying member of the Water Bowl Pawing and Splashing Club. I'll have to check into the no tip bowls! God this puppy is turning out to be expensive.

Maybe short elevated bowl that can be taller when the dog is taller.

Honestly, they outgrow this fairly quickly. Unless you want an expensive raised bowl I wouldn't bother. Put a towel under the bowl or pick it up when puppy is done getting a drink.
