    Barley's Gotcha Day!

Well - it has been some journey for Barley and I (and Moby) this past year. But - he has mellowed - and boy do I love the little scamp. I am very grateful that he is mine for good - and he brings me joy every day. Despite the difficulty of our past year - I was really impressed today to note his development.

At the dog park, I saw another black lab - exactly his age who had been rescued three weeks ago by a woman who took the dog from an elderly couple who kept this young dog crated all of the time because "she was too rambunctious." The difference between Barley and this girl was huge. She was nervous and frothing at the mouth - uncomfortable with other dogs and skittish. Barley has a ton of confidence - loves kids, people, playing, other dogs and pretty much everything. It made me feel very happy to see this as I worried about how he might be affected to have entered a home in which my divorce almost immediately followed. He is well socialized and a very very happy dog. -barley-2-jpg

    Happy Gotcha Day Barley!!

I think play dates with the rescued girl Lab would be an awesome idea. Barley can teach her how to be a real Lab!
