This is a great example of why it is best to let the breeder pick the right puppy for your lifestyle. They spend 8+/- weeks with the puppies and know their personalities and energy levels. I am actually surprised a breeder would let a child pick out the puppy. Hopefully with some great training classes and some good interactive puzzles and toys you can get some improvement. Good luck to you!

Baconsmom, thank you! We do have a fenced yard, thank God! And a doggie door so he goes in and out when he wants. One bad thing about the doggie door, he has dragged the water hose in a few times. Thankfully, it was off at the time! We also do short training sessions several times a day. Good tip about the walking times! Our walks are less than 15 mins most times.
Hahaha hilarious about dragging the water hose in! I would love to see photos of that.
I had to laugh myself. We could hear some grrrrrs as he pulled it in. He loves playing in the water so I think he's trying to tell me something. I'll take a pic when he does it again!
Get him a baby pool and fill it up, he will have a blast and tire himself out!
